Every child deserves a fair chance at learning, growing, and thriving. But for many families raising children with disabilities, the journey through special education can feel overwhelming, isolating, and full of barriers.
The COMPASS Project, a nonprofit initiative of Charting the Course, is laying the foundation for a sustainable model of educational advocacy—one that centers equity, expertise, and community.
We are currently focused on training and mentoring a cohort of advocates to provide high-quality support to families who may otherwise struggle to access these services.
Our long-term mission is to expand access to free, professional advocacy for economically disadvantaged families in Maryland, ensuring every child has a voice in their education.
